  • Description: Ubicado en el Palacio de Villahermosa, el Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza, fue abierto al público en 1992. La gestión que el barón Heinrich Thyssen-Bornemisza hizo de la colección se centró, especialmente, en la adquisición de obras de los siglos XIX y XX enmarcadas dentro de corrientes como el Impresionismo, Postimpresionismo, Fovismo, los movimientos expresionistas alemanes, las vanguardias y la pintura de posguerra europea y americana. Con tres plantas, el museo recorre la historia de la pintura occidental desde el siglo XIII hasta el siglo XX. Renacimiento, Manierismo, Barroco, Rococó, Romanticismo, Pop Art… están representados en las casi 1.000 obras expuestas. Trabajos de Alberto Durero, Edgar Degas, Pablo Picasso, Caravaggio, Claude Monet o Vincent Van Gogh, entre otros muchos, integran como obras maestras la colección del Museo Thyssen.
